China Electric Mobility Sourcing

Bring in the right electric scooter, e-bike or moped — not just any factory quote.

Send us the model, category or supplier link. Bridgeway checks the spec, the certification claims and the UK road-use classification before anything is ordered, then handles sourcing, freight, customs and delivery.

Who this is for

For UK businesses that want the category right before the deposit is paid.

"E-bike" and "e-scooter" are marketing terms on a supplier listing, not legal categories. Current HEZZO and Speedy Flying Group range sheets span three genuinely different product families, each with its own UK road-use rule. Get the category wrong and the buyer either pays for compliance a product can't legally have, or registers one that never needed it.

This service is useful when comparing a supplier's micromobility range, checking whether a specific model can realistically be registered for UK roads, or verifying that a sheet's product photos actually show the manufacturer's own unit.

Sourcing process

Start by declaring the intended use.

Classify by where the end customer will actually ride it — the listing name on the supplier sheet isn't a legal category.

  1. 01

    Declare the intended use

Private land, off-road trail, or public road — the answer decides which of the three product families actually fits.

APrivate land, garden or a track — never leaves the property
BOff-road trails, motocross-style riding on private land
CUK public roads — commuting or delivery work
  2. 02

Match it to a product lot

    Standing e-scooters, fat-tyre/off-road e-bikes, or EEC-certified mopeds — each has a different UK road-use rule.

  3. 03

    Verify certification claims

EEC/CE certificate copies and the underlying type-approval number checked against the supplier before deposit.

  4. 04

    Confirm landed cost and route

FOB price, freight, duty and VAT modelled together before a shipment is booked.

Supplier checks

What Bridgeway checks before money moves.

EAPC / power compliance

Motor power and assist cut-off checked against the UK's 250W / 25 km/h EAPC threshold, so a unit isn't marketed as an ordinary e-bike when it legally isn't one.

EEC / CE certificate verification

Certificate copies and the underlying type-approval number checked against the supplier before deposit — DOT-only certification is flagged as not valid for UK/EU use.

Frame branding & photo authenticity

Two listing photos in this range were traced to other established e-bike and moped brands' frame decals — withheld here until the supplier confirms an own-label unit.

Landed cost & duty classification

FOB price, freight, duty and VAT modelled together, since motor power can change how customs classifies the unit on arrival.

What you receive

A sourcing decision you can act on.

The output is not a spreadsheet of factory names. Bridgeway turns the supplier sheet into a category classification and a realistic landed-cost view, so the next step can be sampling, certification follow-up or shipping.

Category classification

Which of the three lots the model actually falls into, and what that means for UK use.

Verified spec sheet

Motor, battery, range and brake specs cross-checked against the supplier's current sheet.

Certification check

EEC/CE status confirmed, or flagged where it doesn't transfer to the UK.

Landed cost estimate

A realistic UK-delivered price before a deposit is committed.

Electric mobility FAQ

Questions about sourcing e-scooters, e-bikes and mopeds.

Does Bridgeway register or type-approve the vehicle for UK roads?

No. Bridgeway sources, verifies the supplier, arranges freight and clears customs. Registration, IVA/type-approval and consumer compliance sit with the buyer or their compliance partner.

Can any of these be sold as a ready-to-ride "e-bike"?

Only if it genuinely meets the EAPC limit — 250W continuous, assist cutting off at 25 km/h, pedals doing the propulsion. None of the fat-tyre or dirtbike-class units meet that bar.

What's the minimum order quantity?

Varies by model — most sit on a 1-19 / 20-49 / 50+ pricing ladder, with EU/US/UK-warehoused stock on some scooter models for smaller trial orders.

How long from enquiry to UK delivery?

Sea freight is the default for full container volumes; warehoused stock moves faster. See the LCL vs FCL guide once volumes are known.
